A big mountain ski that performs surprisingly well on groomers and in-bounds terrain, the K2 Obsethed is a wide, fast ski designed for expert skiers in search of powder stashes. Many reviewers said it fared relatively well on hard snow and groomed terrain for such a wide ski – while it demands strength and a certain amount of speed, it turns fairly well and really cuts through less than desirable surface conditions. In deep powder snow is where the K2 Obsethed thrives, though. The unique design features tip-tail rocker with camber underfoot, making it a veritable powder “life raft”. The considerable width underfoot means the ski sits atop all but the deepest snow.
K2 OBSETHED REVIEW // WHO IT’S FOR
Just about anyone who frequents deep powder, but occasionally has to cross harder snow and groomed terrain on the way there. Has some crossover capability to the park, but it isn’t an ideal park ski.
K2 OBSETHED REVIEW // WHAT THEY SAID
“Of course these skis float well – just look at them! What surprised me was how comfortable they were on groomers.”
“This is a really realistic ski for backcountry skiers who spend some time in-bounds, or enter through a resort. Just be sure to get the right size – there’s a lot of ski here, and I can see it easily overpowering a lighter person.”
