The shogun fits into that all too familiar niche somewhere between a powder ski and a groomer ski – and it does both pretty well. Most at home in the woods or off on the sides of trails where the soft snow lies, this ski ably and enjoyably crosses over to in-bounds trails, making it remarkably versatile. This partial twin is a popular choice amongst all-mountain powder skiers. While many of our testers found it to be a bit soft to recommend it as an all-mountain ski, they praised it’s abilities in the deep stuff. “Light and wide, but doesn’t make the occasional stretch of hardpack a chore” said one tester.
