Introduced in 2008/2009, the Salomon Lord is an able all mountain ski that tries to do everything well. A mid-fat ski with decent sidecut, the Lord is fairly forgiving on harder snow, but has enough width in the tip and tail to occasionally venture off-piste. The very slight rocker design is tough to see when the ski is laid flat, but our reviewers felt it – many said that it made the ski a little sluggish and unresponsive on quick turns.
It’s also an attractively packaged ski. The embroidered Lord logo on the topsheet looks great, and the die cut base lets you see straight through to the ski’s wood core.
SALOMON LORD REVIEW // WHO IT’S FOR
Advanced intermediate skiers who want a forgiving ski that will take them all over the mountain.
SALOMON LORD REVIEW // WHAT THEY SAID
“The upturned tip isn’t really necessary on a ski like this – it doesn’t have enough width underfoot to fare well in deep powder, where you’d need that early rise.”
“A good intermediate ski – feels really stable, handles well in everyday conditions.”
